AARON METZGER
I make satirical paintings of characters who find themselves in inordinately violent scenarios. My work depicts an interplay of humor and violence in which they become indistinguishable from one another, merging the playfulness of ultra-saturated colors with imagery of fights and brawls. Influenced by the slapstick humor of 1990s comedies, I bring elements of that same comedic sensibility onto canvas.
